How to register as a borrower

Everyone is welcome at the library, but in order to borrow books and other materials, you must become a registered member of the library.

Registration and Library card

Registering is free. In order to register, you must show valid identification - i.e. health insurance card (yellow card), driver’s license, passport or birth- or name certificate. Your registration is valid in all the libraries of the municipality.

The health insurance card (yellow card) is subsequently used when borrowing library materials.

If you don’t have a Danish health insurance card, or if you are below the age of 18, we can issue a special library card. Nobody above the age of 18 is allowed to use children’s library cards for the loan of adult materials.

Upon registration, you choose a four digit PIN which is used when borrowing library materials and logging onto this website.

If you move to another address, please remember to notify us.

Personal data

Your personal data is safe with us. Danish libraries delete the registration of your loans when you return them. None of your personal data is registered using the computers at the library - you just have to restart the computer and everything is deleted.

Adult borrower

In order to register, you have to be at least 18 years of age. Online borrower registration requires MitID.

You need to read and accept the general terms and conditions of Helsingør Kommunes Biblioteker.
